WHERE WE OPERATE

Akashinga Maasai focuses its safaris on one of Kenya’s - and Africa’s - greatest natural environments: The Maasai Mara National Reserve. Both reserves have incredible diversity and quantity of wildlife. Our experienced guides’ intimate knowledge of the terrain and its flora and fauna ensures an incredible viewing experience.  The Maasai Mara is the perfect introduction to the African safari and gives the greatest opportunity to spot the great cats as well as a multitude of other animals.

While focussed on the Maasai Mara, Akashinga Maasai, through its extensive network of contacts, can coordinate a visit to any of Kenya’s wildlife areas.

The Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa's greatest wildlife reserves, is located in southwest Kenya is a vast scenic expanse of gently rolling African savannah plains, bordering the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to the south.

The Reserve covers over 1,510 sq km (580 sq miles) and raises 1,500-2,170 meters above sea level. Add the conservancies and the area is at least twice the size. Maasai Mara is a unique wildlife conservation haven, famous for its spectacular natural diversity of wildlife. It hosts over 95 species of mammals and over 570 recorded species of birds.

Large numbers of lions, cheetah, elephant, rhino, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra and many more animals are found in the park in their natural habitat, unconfined and free to roam the vast wilderness stretching for miles on end.

Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible and most spectacular eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing eco-system.

Simply unmissable.
